چکیده
Bacterial strain CCBAU 25048(T) was isolated from root nodules of Kummerowia stipulacea grown in Shandong province of China. Cells of the strain were Gram-negative, strictly aerobic, non-spore-forming, motile short rods. Phylogeny of 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that the strain belonged to the genus Shinella, a member of family Rhizobiaceae. Its closest phylogenetic relatives were Shinella granuli Ch06(T) and Shinella zoogloeoides IAM 12669(T), respectively showing 98.3 and 98.9 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity. Strain CCBAU 25048(T) had DNA-DNA relatedness of 43.5 and 34.8 %, respectively, with S. zoogloeoides JCM 20728(T) and S. granuli JCM 13254(T). In addition, in TP-RAPD analysis, different patterns were obtained for these three strains and some rhizobial strains. The nifH, nodC and nodD sequences of CCBAU 25048(T) were identical or very similar to those of bean-nodulating Rhizobium tropici strains. Several phenotypic characteristics, including the use of citrate and d-ribose as carbon sources and growth at pH 11.0, as well as the fatty acid composition, could differentiate CCBAU 25048(T) from the two defined Shinella species. Therefore, a novel species Shinella kummerowiae sp. nov. is proposed, with strain CCBAU 25048(T) (=JCM 14778(T) =LMG 24136(T)) as the type strain.

The Complete Genome Sequence of the Nicotine-Degrading Bacterium Shinella sp. HZN7
Nicotine is a natural alkaloid that is very toxic to humans. To eliminate the harmful effects of nicotine in the environment, biological methods employing microbes to degrade nicotine are required (Brandsch, 2006; Liu et al., 2015). Shinella sp. HZN7 can degrade nicotine efficiently via the variant of a pyridine and pyrrolidine pathways (VPP; Ma et al., 2013; Qiu et al., 2014, 2015). The main i...

A bacterium, designated strain DC-196(T), isolated from kitchen refuse compost was analysed by using a polyphasic approach. Strain DC-196(T) was characterized as a Gram-negative short rod that was catalase- and oxidase-positive, and able to grow at 10-40 degrees C, pH 6-9 and in NaCl concentrations as high as 3 %. Chemotaxonomically, C(18 : 1) was observed to be the predominant cellular fatty a...
متن کاملShinella granuli gen. nov., sp. nov., and proposal of the reclassification of Zoogloea ramigera ATCC 19623 as Shinella zoogloeoides sp. nov.
The taxonomic position of a novel bacterial strain, Ch06T, isolated from an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor was determined. Strain Ch06T was Gram-negative, aerobic, motile and oxidase- and catalase-positive. A comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed a clear affiliation of strain Ch06T to the Alphaproteobacteria and it was most closely related to Zoogloea ramigera ATCC 19623 a...
